Four quadrant, bipolar power supplies are used for military and aerospace testing, power grid simulation, photovoltaic (PV) cell characterization, and battery simulation for vehicles and more. Integrated waveform generates and software options allow for custom test simulations as well as preprogrammed test sequences to international test standards such as ISO 16750-2.
What's the difference between a 4 Quadrant Power Supply and 4 Quadrant Power Amplifier?
4 quadrant power supplies contain bipolar amplifiers in the audio frequency range. In EMC test standards, the test equipment can be referred to as a bipolar amplifier, audo amplifier or four quadrant amplifier. We found most of our customers performing testing are looking for a power supply test system; a self contained, songle piece of test equipment which contains a signal source, bipolar amplifier driving DC and low frequency AC power, and a controller with a UI for programming and control.
