  • EMC CDN's (Coupling / Decoupling Networks)

The EMC Shop stocks all types of CDN's for EMC testing, typically used for RF conducted immunity testing per IEC 61000-4-6, which is one of the EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) phenomenon tests typically required for “CE-mark” compliance testing of commercial products. Rent or buy individual coupling/decoupling networks or order a complete turn key system for RF conducted immunity testing.

Coupling networks typically have a BNC port top-side where your inject the RF signal, an EUT side where the RF disturbances are directed via direct injection to power lines or data lines via most common connectoy ports including USB, RJ45, and HDMI. The AE Side is safe from disturbance and used to connect and monitor auxilary equipment to the DUT.

    EMC CDN Type's

    • M Type: Used for unscreened AC or DC power supply applications.
    • AF Type: Used for all unscreened, unbalanced lines, carrying low current.
    • CAN bus Type: Specially designed to test the unscreened CAN bus.
    • S Type: Used for screened cables.
    • S Type coaxial: Used for coaxial cables.
    • S Type for USB and HDMI: Specially designed to test the USB and HDMI
    • ST type: Used for testing screened, balanced lines for telecommunication ports on ITE equipment.
    • T type: Used for unscreened, balanced lines for telecommunication ports on ITE equipment.

  • Bulk Current Injection (BCI) Probes

Injecting low level RF signals and high frequency current into wires and cable bundles are a common requirement in ISO 11452-4, Mil-STD-461, RTCA/DO-160 and EN/IEC 61000-4-6. Bulk current injection probes are available in two styles, a window style for passing wires and cables through and a clamping style BCI probe for hard to access cable bundles or more intricate systems.

  • Current Monitor/Sensing Probes

Typically used in tantum with bulk current injection (BCI) probes. A broadband current monitoring/sensing probe is used downstream to evaluate and monitor changes in characteristics once a low level RF/high frequency current was injected into the line or cable bundle. Typical applications include Mil-STD-461 CS101, CS102, RTCA-DO-160 and EN/IEC 61000-4-6.

  • EM Coupling Clamps

The integrity of both communication and electrical lines within products of all shapes and sizes is important to address early in design stages. EM coupling clamps are used to monitor electrical and magnetic characteristics radiated from electrical/communication wires. Additional, you can generate electrical and magnetic fields using a clamp to inject distrubances onto the lines and evaluate their response. EM clamps are used to meet CISPR, IEC and other compliance standards to evaluate radio frequency disturbances on and around power or data lines.
